If you represent a governmental entity and are interested in creating your own multi-hazard mitigation plan, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has created a series of How-To Guides to aid in plan development as part of its mitigation planning division.

The Governor's Office of Emergency Services has created a Hazard Mitigation Web Portal which includes information and guidelines for creating a local hazard mitigation plan, including:

Because the Yuba County Multi-Hazard Mitigation plan is under development, all governmental entities within the County are eligible to apply for grant funds through the Pre-Disaster Mitigation Competitive (PDM-C) Grant Program (Adobe Acrobat PDF).

The State and FEMA have also provided information on Disaster Recovery and Mitigation and a comparison of the various mitigation grant programs offered by FEMA
