Children's Services is
responsible for taking reports of suspected child abuse
24 hours a day, seven days a week.
A child is removed from their home only if there are
safety issues which cannot be addressed while keeping
the family intact. Our programs provide services to
families such as substance abuse treatment, counseling,
anger management, and best family practices to assist
them in providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing home to
their children. If a child must be removed, then we
assist the parents in reunifying their family and
eliminating the risk of abuse.
Services include Emergency
Response, Family Maintenance, Family Reunification,
Permanent Placement, Foster Home placement and Foster
Parent recruitment, among other. Our Children's Services
Division staff utilizes contemporary practices and
strategies such as Differential Response and Structured
Decision Making, as well as Family Team Conferencing. In
March 2008 we anticipate the full operation of our new
Family Visitation Center, providing families with many
more options and services.

abuse and/or neglect, please call our 24-hour response
line: 530-749-6288.
