Mobile Incident Command Vehicle

The MICV, purchased with California Homeland Security Funds, is designed and purchased for multi-agency use within the Yuba County Operational Area, which includes the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Yuba County. The MICV has a total length of 33.5 ft. The MICV is equipped for a variety of uses, which include, but are not limited to, a mobile command post, a communications/dispatch center and as the secondary OES Emergency Operations Center. The MICV will be deployed for use throughout Yuba County as needed, to serve the citizens of Yuba County, training and for demonstration purposes.

The MICV is equipped with state of the art equipment, which includes, but is not limited to a two tier satellite system which allows the vehicle to receive internet, television, and satellite telephone services, to supplement the tellular telephone system in the vehicle. The MICV also contains a portable radio interoperability solution. This allows radios on different frequencies to be able to communicate with one another during an incident, when other lines of communication have failed.

The command area is located in the center of the vehicle and has five work stations, each containing a laptop computer which can be used on a wireless air card or plugged into the MICV’s server. The command area also has a plasma television to watch news coverage and an LCD screen to view images from a camera, atop a forty foot retractable mast, attached to the rear of the vehicle.

The dispatch center is located at the rear of the vehicle. The center is capable of accommodating three dispatch or other work stations. It contains three telular phones, three desktop computers, numerous law enforcement and fire radios, as well as a flat panel television to view maps, camera images or news coverage.

The MICV, with its 20KW generator, on board lavatory and galley is completely self contained.
