Applications are accepted only for those positions for which the County is currently recruiting (unless designated as Extra Help). Please note the different recruiting categories for Yuba County Job Openings:
Open Recruitments are open to the Public and all County employees.
Promotional Recruitments are open to Current Regular Yuba County Employees only and are identified as either a Countywide or Departmental promotion. Definitions provided in the Promotional Opportunities table below.
Extra Help Recruitments are open to the Public. Extra Help applications may be submitted for all current classifications regardless of whether or not the County is currently recruiting.

Interest forms are used to notify you of an opening and will remain active in our database for at least a year. APPLYING FOR A POSITION WITH YUBA COUNTY:
An Application must be completed for each position for which you are applying (exception: if the job is announced as "flexibly staffed", only one application is required). Include as much information in your application as necessary to demonstrate how you meet the minimum qualifications as stated on the job announcement. A resume may be included with your application, however, it will not be accepted in place of a complete application.
Documentation Required Upon Application: You MUST attach all documentation required on the job announcement to your application. Failure to provide required documents may result in the rejection of your application. Required documentation may include one or more of the following: copies of certificates (i.e. Typing, POST), resumes, supplemental questionnaires, transcript (s), grade report (s) and/or diploma (s)
Accreditation: All college and/or university course work, diplomas, and/or degrees must be from an accredited college or university. To obtain information regarding accreditation, refer to the US Department of Education Office of Post Secondary Education at: http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.asp.
Foreign Degrees: Candidates who possess a degree from a college or university that is accredited by a foreign or non-U.S. accrediting agency must have their educational units evaluated by an accredited college or institution in the United States, and attach the necessary documentation. For further information and a list of Agencies Approved by the Commission for Foreign Transcription Evaluation, refer to the State of California, California Commission on Teacher Credentialing at: http://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets.html.
Veteran's Preference Points: Candidates who have prior military service time may be eligible for additional ranking credits, i.e. veteran's preference points, by attaching their DD214 to their Yuba County Official Application.
Please review the Employment Application Instructions, in it's entirety, prior to submitting your application. Remember, the completed application is an example of your reading comprehension skills, your ability to follow directions and your attention to detail. Important: It is your responsibility to notify the Human Resources Office of any address/phone number changes for all applications and/or Interest Forms submitted. You must submit the most recent Yuba County Application form, or your application will not be considered further.

Promotional opportunities are for Current Yuba County Employees and are identified as either Countywide or Departmental promotions.
Countywide is defined as classifications used universally throughout the County and ALL Current Regular Yuba County Employees are encouraged to apply.
Promotional opportunities designated as "Departmental promotion" are for classifications unique to a specific department and only Regular Yuba County Employees currently employed within that department are eligible to apply.
Attach all required documentation (typing certificate, certificates, supplemental questionnaires, transcripts, grade report and/or diploma) to the application as detailed in the job flyer.
When promoting within Yuba County, Salary is determined by multiplying the Base Salary of the classification with the individual employee's Index Rate. Index Rate is based on the number of continuous years of Regular Yuba County service.

Extra Help (EH) Opportunities
Yuba County's Extra Help opportunities offer employment for a short period of duration, not to exceed 1,000 hours in any fiscal year. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications of the classification and those that are qualified are certified to the requesting department.
Extra Help applications may be submitted for all current classifications regardless of whether or not they are currently open for recruitment. Attach all required documentation (typing certificate, certificates, supplemental questionnaires, transcripts, grade report and/or diploma) to the application as detailed in the job flyer.
