Healthy Stores for a Healthy Community

The Healthy Stores for a Healthy Community Campaign is a statewide collaboration between tobacco use prevention, nutrition and alcohol prevention partners. The goal is to improve the health of Californians through changes in community stores and to educate people how in-store product marketing influences consumption of unhealthy products.

Data was collected from more than 7,000 tobacco retailers across 58 counties.  The survey looked at  the marketing and availability of healthy and unhealthy products, including tobacco, junk foods, sugary beverages, alcohol, fresh fruit and vegetables, and milk, as well as condoms.  Here in Yuba County, 61 tobacco retailers were surveyed in the spring of 2016.

Please visit the links below to view survey results and media releases regarding the data.
